That's my legacy? Well, OK.

As a supply chainer, you're used to being called a roadblock. Used to being called a necessary evil. Used to not getting a ticker tape parade when you do something big.

All you can do is plug away. Do your thing. Keep saving money. Keep getting the customer what they want. Toil in anonymity. Its what the job is.

After saving tens of millions of dollars over the past five years, I had a conversation this week that reminded me that its the little things. An executive grabbed me at a happy hour (this is not a #metoo story) and thanked me for one thing I did three years ago. As the person who manages travel contracts, I got him upgraded to A-List on Southwest. That's it. I had a slot and I gave it to the person that flew the most. It wasn't a hard decision.

While I could be profoundly frustrated that this is the big thing I've delivered (it isn't), you take the win. That win opens the door for the next one and the next one because now you have trust.

Supply Chain doesn't develop LeBrons and Stephs. We are all a bunch of Andre Iguadolas being great teammates and taking care of the things that no one else cares enough to do (while most days we dream of being Draymonds and doing the little things AND kicking someone in the balls).

If my legacy is doing the small things right, I guess I'll take it.
